What to expect
A typical Pilates class will involve a series of exercises that focus on core strength, flexibility, and balance. You’ll use a reformer bed, your own bodyweight and equipment to perform controlled movements and build strength. You will leave mastering the principles of safe movement and the anatomy of a reformer bed.
Do I need grip socks?
Yes ! Normal socks can be slippery and cause you to lose your footing or slide around during your workout. If you do not have grip socks already, they can be purchased in the studio.
How many people are in a class?
For all group classes, there is a maximum capacity of 6. Small group classes allow the instructor to give each participant individualised attention. Doing each Pilates exercise correctly will help you hit your goals faster and avoid getting injuries.
Will Pilates help me lose weight?
While Pilates may not be the most effective form of exercise for weight loss, it can help you tone and strengthen your muscles, which can improve your overall body composition.
Can Pilates help with back pain?
Yes, Pilates can be very effective at relieving back pain by improving posture, strengthening core muscles, and increasing flexibility and mobility.
Can I attend if I am pregnant?
Please tell your instructor that you’re pregnant. Not all our teachers are prenatally trained, so if you would prefer to be guided by a prenatally trained Instructor, please reach out via email or text and we will advise on the best sessions to attend.

Continue with your regular exercise routine, as long as it feels comfortable. (If you’re new to Reformer Pilates, please consult your GP or doctor before starting.) - Up to 27 Weeks
We recommend avoiding Jump Board and Intermediate classes. Please book on to a ‘Mixed Level’ class - From 28 Weeks Onwards

What facilities are there?
We are in the MirrorWorks workspace building, which offers showers for use. Please note that shower gels and towels are not provided, so you’ll need to bring your own. If you need assistance finding the showers after class, feel free to ask the instructor.
